Requirements

  • 4–6 years of professional design experience, ideally in multifamily residential interior design and commercial office design
  • Based in Richmond, VA
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design from a CIDA‑accredited program or Interior Architecture
  • Exhibits design and technological sophistication: self‑starting, energetic, and creative
  • Excellent Revit, Photoshop, Enscape, InDesign, and Bluebeam skills
  • Familiarity with collaborative platforms (e.g. Miro) and BIM/AI plug-ins (e.g. pyRevit, Veras) is preferred
  • Ability to work with the Senior Designer to develop strong design concepts and accurately document them in design presentations and construction documents
  • Experience with space planning, FF&E specifications, material selections, codes, and coordination with consultants
  • Experience with the construction administration process in multifamily and/or large‑scale commercial workplace projects
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Valid U.S. work permit
  • This position is for in‑person work; 100% remote candidates will not be considered.

  • LEED and/or WELL accreditation
  • Progress toward NCIDQ certification or architectural licensure

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate across disciplines (Interior Design, Architecture, and Experiential/Branding) to shape interior concepts and carry them through each phase of the project.
  • Support programming, space planning, and material and finish selections, including FF&E selection and coordination.
  • Produce coordinated design drawings, presentations, and construction documents that clearly communicate design intent.
  • Prepare and present visual materials that support project storytelling, including diagrams, renderings, and presentation layouts.
  • Coordinate with vendors, manufacturers, and consultants to gather technical information and support accurate project documentation.
  • Support construction administration by reviewing submittals, responding to RFIs, and participating in site walks.
  • Continue developing your knowledge of building codes, sustainability frameworks, and industry standards through project experience.
