About The Position

The Interior Design Manager at Morgan Group is responsible for overseeing the design and aesthetic quality of multi-family properties. This role involves managing the design process from initial concept through to construction, ensuring that projects align with the owner's interests, budget, and design standards. The position requires collaboration with various sub-consultants and internal teams to deliver high-quality design solutions that enhance the overall project aesthetics.

Requirements

  • Design background is essential.
  • Field experience is recommended, but not required.
  • Experience in development, design, entitlements, permitting, and construction.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the owner's interests are carried out in a timely manner and according to budget, plans, and programming intent.
  • Focus on quality and overall project's aesthetics, requiring an understanding of design, quality, and durability of materials.
  • Procure, scope out, and negotiate proposals from sub-consultants for submission to the Developer with recommendations for approval.
  • Prepare design checklist for each project's Design Kick-off Meeting.
  • Assist the Developer in the preparation of Schematic Design and Design Development progress sets.
  • Ensure drawings are coordinated with the Approved Finish Schedule and compliant with Morgan Design Standards.
  • Perform Owner's final plan review prior to designers issuing the Building Permit Set.
  • Coordinate Signage Consultant and prepare final bid analysis for Developer approval.
  • Assist Marketing and Property Management with creating Sales Collateral materials.
  • Responsible for the Unit Finish Schedule and securing finishes and fixture samples for review.
  • Coordinate the Fitness Equipment layout for approval and communicate with vendors as needed.
  • Attend OAC Meetings and communicate requests of the designers through the Design Manager/Director.
  • Coordinate and lead Pre-Construction Design Review Meetings.
  • Review and provide recommendations for Value Engineering substitutions.
  • Update the regional team on Development Update calls regarding design status and critical issues.
  • Monitor all RFIs and Submittals through Procore and assist with design-related RFIs and Submittals.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor adherence to approved drawings and submittals.
