About The Position

In the Design Intern position, you’ll work as part of a design team on new construction and renovation design projects. Your focus will be to meet client needs and create revenue for our business while ensuring an excellent client experience. Requirements

  • Ability to research technical information (building codes, etc)
  • Willingness to learn and apply design concepts to the Senior Living Industry and design for that population.

Demonstrates relentless curiosity, proactively honing technical and professional abilities for the future. Seeks and applies feedback to continuously learn and develop.

  • General working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, and eagerness to learn new design software and technologies.
  • Intermediate experience with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Currently enrolled in an Associate's or Bachelor's degree program in Interior Design or a related field, with an expected graduation date of December 2026 or later.
  • Available to work full-time during the summer.
  • Available to work 15 - 20 hours per week during the academic year.
  • Job to be performed in the location listed.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate existing documentation and conditions, research life, safety and code requirements, and help with design objectives and spatial requirement analysis.
  • Formulate preliminary plans and design concepts for client review and approval.
  • Describe the character, function and aesthetic of each project.
  • Develop presentation items for clients including renderings, boards, waterfalls, and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Complete necessary documentation including project binders and registrations.
  • Coordinate the reselection process for our customers.
  • Develop drawings and legends to be used for the construction of the design.
  • Identify legends used in construction documents.
