About The Position

We are seeking a productive and driven Interior Design/Architecture Intern to join our interior design team for summer of 2026. As an Airstream intern, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our design, engineering, and production team members in a dynamic and highly collaborative environment. As an Airstream intern, you ll gain hands-on experience and work on multiple projects at different stages of the design process. In addition to being involved in exciting, active and ongoing work, interns will collaborate with each other, and other team members on a unique summer-long project. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative environment, has a passion for design, and can integrate repeatability and manufacturability into the design process.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in (or recently graduated from) an Interior Design program: (undergraduates should have completed their second year, graduates their first year) or be a recent graduate of an Interior Design program
  • Required computer skills in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD; familiarity with Autodesk programs like Inventor, rendering programs such as Unreal Engine Twinmotion, and Adobe Creative Suite is a plus
  • Highly motivated self-starter, with attention to detail and eager to participate in all aspects of the design process
  • Strong conceptual, graphic, and organizational skills; ability to communicate professionally with team members and vendors
  • Basic understanding of furniture, interior materials and finishes, and purchase order processes
  • Enthusiasm for working on multi-disciplinary teams, attention to detail, and positive can do attitude
  • Should have a strong interest in interior design

Responsibilities

  • Research design materials, assist with décor update documentation, prepare design presentations, mood boards, and material samples for internal and external review
  • Participate in design meetings, offering creative ideas and fresh perspectives
  • Coordinate with material and furniture vendors to obtain quotes, verify stock availability, gather initial pricing, and confirm lead times on selections
  • Maintain, organize, and collect samples in the materials library regularly
  • Create hand renderings and drawings to communicate design concepts
  • Assist in updating drawing documentation within the PD&E standards under the specific ECO (engineering change order) or PCR (product change request) guidelines
