About The Position

Ethan Allen Retail, Inc. is seeking experienced Interior Designers for the Greater Philadelphia and New Jersey Markets, specifically for the Marlton and Princeton New Jersey teams. As a vertically integrated manufacturer and retailer of home furnishings and accessories, Ethan Allen serves as the interior design destination for clients and the Architecture and Design trade community. The ideal candidate is driven, works well in a team environment, and is passionate about design and sales. This full-time position requires working on-site and may involve weekends. The role involves creating individualized design solutions using Ethan Allen products and services, with a focus on space planning, fabric coordination, product selection, and overall residential project design. Success is measured by performance in teamwork, customer service, communication, decision making, project development, presentation, and technical skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a design-related field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of practical interior design experience, or five (5) years in a related field.
  • Broad knowledge of interior design and effective sales techniques.
  • Working knowledge of online sales and design tools.
  • Good listening skills with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • General understanding of social media and grassroots marketing.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Intermediate skill competency using digital floor planning technology.
  • Experience with interactive technology for design concepts.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Create design solutions that align with customer preferences and budgets.
  • Sell Ethan Allen’s products and services.
  • Represent the Ethan Allen brand in all customer interactions.
  • Greet customers professionally in the design center to establish rapport and obtain appointments.
  • Make home calls to evaluate customer needs and provide individualized design solutions.
  • Utilize grassroots marketing and social media to develop and grow the business.
  • Educate customers about the complimentary design service offered by Ethan Allen.
  • Stay current on design and color trends to create fashionable design solutions.
  • Coordinate with the team to provide exceptional service to customers before and after the sale.
  • Participate in corporate sponsored marketing and training programs.
  • Educate customers on finance options available through Ethan Allen.
  • Contribute to the development and upkeep of the design center’s portfolio.
  • Utilize corporate systems and technology for project design and presentations.
  • Enter orders using the retail point of sale system.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly design center.
  • Work with the Design Center Leader to develop business and marketing plans.
  • Utilize technology to build project volume and relationships with clients.
  • Use social media to enhance personal and company presence.
  • Perform any other duties as required.
