About The Position
The Interior Cockpit QMT Intern position at BMW Manufacturing Company offers a unique opportunity for students to engage in hands-on learning within the product quality management functions, specifically focusing on supplier quality management applications related to interior parts commodities. This internship is designed to immerse students in real-world projects from day one, allowing them to contribute actively to the team and bring their own ideas to the table. Interns will work closely with Quality Specialists on critical ongoing and upcoming projects, gaining valuable experience in the field. Interns can expect to assist in various functions, including addressing specific supplier issues through process problem-solving measures, utilizing problem-solving tools to tackle challenges effectively. They will also engage in supply chain topics, particularly concerning sub-component stock tracking and crisis management related to critical component shortages. The role may involve special scopes on specific supplier topics as defined by the hiring manager and assignment supervisor, providing a comprehensive learning experience. Additionally, interns will be involved in implementing an Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and value stream data collection system at suppliers, steering supplier quality development for specific nominations. They will apply problem-solving methodologies, such as the 8D approach, to resolve recurrent quality issues with designated suppliers. This internship not only enhances technical skills but also fosters teamwork and communication abilities in a dynamic work environment.
