About The Position

The Interim Ship Clerk is assigned to the Area Manager, and will hold responsibilities specific to the different Fulfillment Center areas. Key Job Elements: Support and work in the department as required Helping support daily management of department duties, including allocating labor, leading meetings, assigning job duties, and communicating with internal and external suppliers Providing vacation coverage for Area Managers Providing policy follow-up, attendance tracking (duties do not extend to discipline) Tracking and reporting of ATS/labor hours Assisting the floor as an associate resource, training associates and verifying SOP compliance Ensuring successful area performance, through tracking, reporting and feedback of associate performance Participating in Operational Excellence initiatives in some capacity Filling in as needed with production duties Fully understanding workflow and daily production goals Reviewing and updating SOP as required Assisting in keeping work area clean and organized Identifying and addressing safety hazards within the work area Coaching associates to work safely at all times Participating in safety initiatives Referring all job injuries immediately to area manager - Basic qualifications for a shipping clerk include - a high school diploma or GED, strong organizational and communication skills, and physical ability to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods. Proficiency with basic computer programs for data entry and tracking shipments, along with meticulous attention to detail, is also essential for success in this role. - Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills are important for interacting with colleagues, customers, and other departments. - Problem-solving: The ability to quickly identify and resolve issues as they arise is a valuable skill. The base pay for this position ranges from $38,480/year in our lowest geographic market up to $49,920/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
