About The Position

The Interim Pre-K Teacher at Cason Lane Pre-K Bldg is responsible for providing effective teaching and support to preschool children, ensuring their safety, development, and achievement. This role requires collaboration with students, parents, and staff, while adhering to the curriculum and managing classroom behavior to foster a positive learning environment.

Requirements

  • Holds a valid Tennessee teaching license with appropriate endorsements for services to children pre-school through sixth grade or specialty area endorsement appropriate to the position sought.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with children and adults.
  • Successful management of student behavior and following directions.
  • Protect confidentiality rights of parents and children.
  • Support child safety and promote good self-esteem.
  • Model appropriate grammar usage and communicate effectively.
  • Possess, use, and continue to develop teaching skills that result in expected student achievement.
  • Punctual and consistent in attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform teaching that results in appropriate student achievement and good self-esteem.
  • Contribute to the successful operation of the total school and system program.
  • Represent the system and the profession to parents and the community.
  • Follow the locally adopted curriculum guide/s for the areas taught.
  • Accommodate for varied learning styles and developmental levels within the classroom/program.
  • Manage behavior in ways that maximize learning and the development of good self-esteem.
  • Plan, prepare, teach, assess, adjust, re-teach, and re-assess to ensure appropriate documented student achievement results.
  • Participate in school and system sponsored activities (i.e., parent clubs, fund raisers, field trips, extra-curricular, etc.).
  • Consult with parents, colleagues, and other appropriate individuals or agencies concerned with student achievement, behavior, and development.
  • Serve on study, planning, and advisory committees as assigned.
  • Maintain accurate and current student records, including ongoing documentation of progress and cumulative records.
  • Attend required meetings and accurately complete required reports in a timely manner.
  • Stay abreast of current trends in the profession and maintain a flexible attitude toward the implementation of new ideas in the classroom/program.
  • Comply with applicable local, state, and federal policies and procedures.
