About The Position
Ute Pass Regional Health Service District is seeking qualified internal candidates for the position of Interim Paramedic Lieutenant . This temporary leadership assignment is designed to support day-to-day operations while providing structured leadership development and professional growth opportunities. This role is ideal for Paramedics who are interested in leadership development, supporting operational excellence, and gaining experience in a supervised leadership capacity. In addition to fulfilling all duties of the Paramedic role, the Interim Paramedic Lieutenant supports the Paramedic Captain in daily shift operations and serves as an operational and professional role model. This position reflects a transition from individual provider responsibility toward organizational leadership, while operating within clearly defined interim parameters. The Interim Lieutenant is expected to demonstrate sound judgment, maintain elevated professional standards, and recognize when guidance or escalation is appropriate.
Requirements
- Current Paramedic in good standing
- Demonstrated professionalism and cultural alignment
- No active corrective action within the past year
- Demonstrated interest in leadership development
Nice To Haves
- Field Training Officer experience
- Prior committee, project, or informal leadership experience
- Formal leadership education or training
Responsibilities
- Assist with daily shift coordination and provider assignments
- Support staffing decisions and operational flow
- Serve as a clinical and operational role model
- Support adherence to clinical guidelines, documentation standards, and patient safety practices
- Provide mentorship and informal performance feedback
- Support Field Training Officer (FTO) operations and onboarding processes
- Identify operational concerns and escalate issues appropriately
- Participate in shift briefings, debriefings, and operational planning
