About The Position

As a Middle School Social Studies Teacher, you will play a crucial role in shaping the academic and personal development of students during a critical period of their education. Your primary responsibility will be to create a positive and engaging learning environment where students can develop a strong foundation in Social Studies content. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in education, Social Studies, or a related field.
• Teaching certificate/license is preferred.
• Strong understanding of middle grades students' developmental stage and instructional strategies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with educational technology tools.
• Genuine enthusiasm for teaching and commitment to fostering a love for learning.
• Demonstrate professionalism and punctuality.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience teaching middle grades students is preferred but not mandatory.
• New graduates with a strong passion for teaching are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement an effective and engaging Social Studies curriculum that aligns with Tennessee state standards.
• Establish clear learning targets for every lesson and build rigorous, engaging lesson plans and assessments.
• Plan and deliver effective, differentiated instruction that caters to diverse learning styles and abilities.
• Regularly assess students' understanding of content concepts and provide timely feedback.
• Establish and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters a love for learning.
• Identify and address the individual needs of students through one-on-one or small group assistance.
• Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress and opportunities for involvement.
• Stay current with educational trends and participate in professional development activities.
• Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to a positive school culture.
• Integrate technology into the classroom to enhance learning experiences.
