About The Position

The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Women's Health seeks an Interim Medical Director of Women's Health Specialties. As an Interim Medical Director, you will provide clinical leadership, ensure high-quality healthcare services, oversee patient safety initiatives, and foster a collaborative environment among healthcare providers. The Medical Director may also play a crucial role in strategic planning, program development, and maintaining strong relationships with patients, staff, and the broader community. Responsibilities

  • Clinical Care Oversight:
  • Implement clinical guidelines, protocols, and evidence-based practices.
  • Address clinical concerns and incidents.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient care.
  • Lead EMR design, implementation, and technology advancement.
  • Provide clinical experience for patient triage and discharge planning.
  • Quality and Safety Improvement:
  • Oversee quality metrics and initiate improvement projects.
  • Monitor and enhance patient safety initiatives.
  • Identify and resolve safety issues.
  • Communicate provider-related concerns with Medical Staff Services/VPMA.
  • Practice Leadership:
  • Lead and participate in medical staff and service line meetings.
  • Mentor providers on clinical performance and collaborative behavior.
  • Facilitate professional development opportunities.
  • Ensure adherence to documentation standards, medical ethics, and professional standards.
  • Develop and revise policies for practitioners.
  • Strategic Planning and Program Development:
  • Develop strategic initiatives to enhance clinical services and identify growth opportunities.
  • Implement innovative programs to meet community healthcare needs.
  • Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness.
  • Participate in the budget process to allocate resources and prioritize capital investments.
  • Establish and evaluate annual performance goals.
  • Engagement and Communication:
  • Build and maintain relationships with patients, staff, and administrators.
  • Communicate organizational goals, policies, and updates to medical staff.
  • Facilitate interdisciplinary communication and collaboration.
  • Participate in conflict resolution and address stakeholder feedback.
