About The Position

JPII seeks a dedicated and knowledgeable Interim History Teacher to join our faculty beginning February 1. This position will teach assigned history courses for the remainder of the academic year and work collaboratively within the Social Studies Department to ensure continuity of instruction, strong classroom culture, and alignment with departmental and school expectations. The ideal candidate is a skilled communicator, organized classroom leader, and flexible professional who can step into an established curriculum while maintaining high academic standards and a supportive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned history courses (specific courses to be determined based on need)
• Implement existing curriculum, pacing guides, and assessments
• Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons
• Create a structured, respectful classroom environment rooted in dignity and accountability
• Assess student learning and provide timely, meaningful feedback
• Maintain accurate records in the school’s learning management and grading systems
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
• Collaborate with department members and school leadership
• Supervise students as assigned (hall duty, advisory, etc.)
