About The Position
The Interim Director for Music and Worship at Huguenot Road Baptist Church will play a pivotal role in enhancing the worship experience through music. This position requires a creative individual who can blend traditional and contemporary music styles to enrich the Sunday morning worship service. The Interim Director will collaborate closely with the Senior Pastor to plan worship services, ensuring that the music ministry aligns with the church's mission and vision. The role is designed to be flexible, accommodating the unique talents and experiences of the candidate, with an expected commitment of at least 20 hours per week, with the possibility of additional hours based on the candidate's availability and the needs of the church. The worship service is held every Sunday at 10:30 AM, and the choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings. The Interim Director will be responsible for leading these rehearsals, working with various accompanists, including organists, pianists, percussionists, and guitarists. This position is temporary, expected to last until a permanent Pastor for Worship and Music is appointed, or for a maximum of one year. The Interim Director will also serve as a liaison with lay leaders within the church to facilitate program development and ensure a cohesive music ministry that engages the congregation.
