About The Position

The Interim Designated Institutional Official (DIO) is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing and managing all graduate medical education (GME) programs at Memorial Medical Center. This position requires a dynamic physician-executive who will ensure the success of existing and future GME programs, including compliance with accreditation standards and resident supervision. The DIO will also engage in clinical practice and scholarship, making this a multifaceted role that combines administrative leadership with educational responsibilities.

Requirements

• MD or DO degree with a Master's degree, PhD, or equivalent experience in management, Public Health, or Leadership.
• Five years of recent management experience in a GME setting.
• Experience in medical education administration and educational leadership positions.
• Board certified by a specialty recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties.
• Licensed to practice medicine in the current state or the state of Georgia.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience as a DIO or associate DIO is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all graduate medical education (GME) programs.
• Ensure compliance with ACGME accreditation standards.
• Supervise residents and evaluate their performance.
• Manage resident responsibilities and participation in patient safety education.
• Engage in clinical practice up to 20% of the time.
• Dedicate 20% of time to scholarship and professional development.
