About The Position

The Interim Controller will oversee accounting operations for a dynamic real estate developer in the Dallas area. This role is crucial for managing financial functions and supporting senior leadership in decision-making within a complex and fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA certification is a strong plus.
• 9 years of experience in accounting within the real estate or related industry.
• Expertise in real estate development financial management and in-depth knowledge of accounting standards.
• Proven ability to analyze complex financial data and communicate findings clearly.
• Proficiency in Yardi or similar accounting software; background in refining accounting controls is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily accounting activities including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Handle financial transactions related to construction, acquisitions, and sales, resolving complex accounting challenges.
• Generate and distribute monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in a timely manner.
• Reconcile and prepare schedules related to investor contributions, loans, and member capital.
• Oversee financial audits and reviews, collaborating with external tax preparers for compliance.
• Establish and maintain internal controls and standard operating procedures to ensure data accuracy.
