About The Position

Alvarez & Marsal, a leading independent global professional services firm, specializing in providing turnaround management, performance improvement and corporate advisory services, is seeking to expand its Private Equity Performance Improvement (PEPI) - CFO Services team in various locations throughout the U.S. With more than 5,500 professionals based in 40 locations across North America, Europe, Asia, and Latin America, our firm excels in problem solving and value creation. Drawing on a strong operational heritage and hands-on-approach, our professionals work closely with organizations and stakeholders to help tackle complex business issues and maximize value. We also take interim management roles (CFO, Controller, Treasurer) to lead clients through challenging times. A&M's Private Equity Performance Improvement Services (PEPI) practice, with offices throughout the US, focuses on serving middle market and large cap private equity firms who have engaged A&M to help improve operating results at their portfolio companies. Our professionals are aligned with a PEPI service line to promote the development of deep functional skills & experiences and to maximize our ability to tailor solutions to solve our clients' business issues. Our PEPI services include CFO Services (including interim management - CFO, Controller, Treasurer), Rapid Results, CDD/Strategy, M&A Services, and Supply Chain. The interim CFO will support our Private Equity clientele on a national basis.

Requirements

  • Established track record as a CFO for PE-owned businesses with revenues in the $100 million to $1 billion range.
  • Deep experience in Manufacturing/Industrial/CPG businesses.
  • Prior experience working with private equity backed companies.
  • Prior consulting experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Ten + years of previous related financial management roles, performance improvement operations consulting, accounting diligence, or restructuring experience.
  • Flexibility to travel up to 80% of the time.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or other advanced degree or certification preferred (e.g., CPA, CFA, etc.).
  • Existing PE relationships (personal or professional).
  • Experience with NetSuite and MS Dynamics.
  • Experience with management reporting dashboards.
  • International treasury and currency hedging experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support Private Equity clientele on a national basis.
  • Lead an organization through time-sensitive projects such as restructuring, carve-outs, or acquisitions.
  • Improve the performance of a finance organization by upgrading staff skills, redesigning processes, or implementing new systems.
  • Build budgets, EBITDA forecasts, and cash forecasts to guide executive management decision making.
  • Develop management reporting dashboards.
  • Manage international treasury and currency hedging.
