The Interim Associate Dean of Nursing provides leadership and direction in the development, administration, and management of the Nursing and Nursing Assistant Certified (NAC) Program Programs. This position is responsible for planning, directing, and evaluating these programs to ensure excellence and achieve program outcomes and strategic goals. This is a temporary 10-month position, with recruitment for the permanent position starting in Winter 2026. The incumbent in the temporary position is encouraged to apply for the permanent position.

  • Assures program development and excellence.
  • Facilitates development of long-range goals and objectives for the nursing program.
  • Develops/maintains written policies of the Nursing Program that are comprehensive and consistent with college policies.
  • Uses assessment and evaluation strategies to maintain accreditation standards.
  • Completes annual reports for ACEN and the Nursing Commission.
  • Monitors and analyzes NCLEX results for program decision-making.
  • Creates/maintains an environment conducive to teaching/learning.
  • Facilitates recruitment, screening, and appointment of new nursing faculty.
  • Orients and mentors faculty for their educator role.
  • Maintains Nursing Program that prepares graduates to function in the health care environment.
  • Formulates program outcomes and designs curriculum based on end-of-program student learning outcomes.
  • Prepares and administers the program budget with faculty input.
  • Master's degree with a major in nursing from an accredited institution.
  • Preparation in education OR two years of teaching experience in nursing education.
  • Experience in curriculum development, administration, program development and evaluation.
  • Five years of relevant experience as a RN including two years of experience in nursing education.
  • Evidence of relevant clinical practice experiences.
  • Current knowledge of nursing practice at the associate degree program level.
  • Active unencumbered license as a registered nurse in Washington State.
  • Experience with computer systems and clinical simulation related to teaching and clinical nursing practice.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws, rules, ordinances and regulations including RCW, WAC, and ACEN standards.
  • Techniques for effective presentations and communication in a multicultural environment.
