Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in education or a related field.
  • Professional Educator License (PEL) or Educator License with Stipulations (ELS) are strongly preferred but not required.
  • 3-5 years of teaching experience is strongly preferred.
  • A passionate advocate for education equity and social justice.
  • A strategic thinker with a proven track record of student success.
  • A community-centered practitioner with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A creative problem-solver who thrives in dynamic, collaborative environments.
  • A professional invested in a growth mindset, transformative education, and intellectual rigor.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that supports the academic growth and social-emotional development of students.
  • Collaborate in designing a culturally relevant curriculum that reflects diverse perspectives, ensuring content and teaching strategies that resonate with and empower students from all backgrounds.
  • Engage students in real-world problem-solving by collaboratively designing grassroots campaigns that address student-identified community issues.
  • Deliver tailored instruction through various formats, including individual, small group, and whole group settings, employing differentiated teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning needs.
  • Conduct ongoing assessment and evaluation of students’ academic performance, while maintaining accurate and up-to-date records to inform instructional decisions.
  • Foster open and transparent communication with students and parents to ensure holistic support for each child's progress and specific needs.
  • Utilize a small-group and data-driven approach.
