Worldwide Grocery Store (WWGS) Robotics and Automation Systems team is seeking an exceptionally talented Interdisciplinary Systems Engineer (ISE) who excels at operating across multiple technical domains to join us in building the future of Amazon's grocery fulfillment capabilities. You will engage with an experienced cross-functional team to develop, verify, and optimize automation systems designed to enhance Amazon's ability to fulfill our customers' diverse and ever-growing needs. As one of GRAS's ISEs, you will work in a team environment, build effective working relationships inside and outside of our group, and support a wide portfolio of new technologies as they move from concept to scaled solutions. A day in the life The ISE develops and maintains concepts of operations and performance targets tied to business requirements, leads testing and verification of new systems, and collaborate with Product Managers-Technical, Design Engineering, and vendors to ensure requirements are met. This individual conducts cross-functional studies, establish test strategies, and leads resolution of emergent systematic failures at component interfaces. Having a dedicated ISE focused on system-level integration improves the quality and reliability of automation solutions that BADS, ROM, and operations teams depend on, while reducing technical debt and ensuring solutions balance technical feasibility with business impact in Amazon's fast-moving grocery environment. About the team Grocery Robotics and Automation Systems works with third party and Amazon technology providers to develop applications that deliver savings and cost avoidance by improving the speed, quality, density, and labor efficiency of Grocery Fulfilment and Fresh Food Production activities at Amazon. We pursue building scale innovation, process path level automation, and incremental improvement to existing automation in a challenging environment with key constraints such as chill chain compliance and high volume order profiles that separate our applications from those intended for typical Amazon Fulfilment Centers.
