About The Position

Serve as project planner for one or more conventional water resources projects associated with District's Civil Works Program. The position involves directing, managing, and conducting water resources studies, evaluating community needs, and preparing various reports and study plans.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License.
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination.
  • May be required to perform temporary duty travel (TDY) approximately 10% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Direct, manage, and conduct water resources studies.
  • Evaluate community needs and water resource problem areas to determine the scope of effort required for study and establish study approach and method.
  • Meet with the project sponsor, project manager, other resource agencies, and technical specialists to coordinate the planning study and to ensure consistency in approach.
  • Prepare briefing materials and present briefings for the District Engineer on studies of interest to Congress.
  • Prepare various reports, study plans, and the final study report assuring consistency and technical accuracy of the report, appendixes, and environmental statements.
