About The Position

This position is located at the U.S. Army National Guard Readiness Center, G-9, Planning Division, in Arlington, Virginia. The surrounding area is situated in Northern Virginia on the south bank of the Potomac River directly across from Washington D.C. Arlington is headquarters to many departments and agencies of the federal government, including the Department of Defense and is the location of many national memorials and museums.

Requirements

• Must meet the basic qualifications for one of the series listed: Civil Engineer GS-0810, Mechanical Engineer GS-0830, or Industrial Engineer GS-0896.
• A degree in engineering from an accredited program or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering.
• At least one year of specialized experience at the GS-12 level or equivalent, including executing significant construction projects and collaborating in the formulation of new standards or applications.

Responsibilities

• Plan, review, analyze, and approve proposed major and minor expansion, rehabilitation, and construction projects required by economical accomplishment of a complex and diversified construction program.
• Apply a thorough knowledge of budgeting and programming aspects and processes associated with the construction management program.
• Apply a broad engineering background in principles and practices of civil, mechanical and/or industrial engineering disciplines related to planning, development and construction of all types, classes and categories of facilities.
