About The Position

Under the direction of the CMO, the provider will work within a small team at a local community hospital, supporting the physicians on staff, as well as working closely with Tele -ICU Physicians. We are seeking a full -time Provider who wants to work for a passionate team in New Jersey, caring for acute patients.

Requirements

  • Daytime shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM Nights Covered by Tele -ICU
  • Responsible for rounding on and managing 10 -12 patients in a 16 -bed ICU
  • Minimum requirement of 14 shifts per month
  • Active NJ medical license in good standing
  • Valid DEA certification in good standing
  • Previous critical care or acute care experience is preferred
  • Must maintain compliance with all licensure and credentialing requirements
  • Position is based in a hospital or healthcare setting with typical risks or discomforts, requiring adherence to standard safety protocols.
  • Board Certified in Critical Care
  • MD/DO Trained

Responsibilities

  • Provide bedside care for critically ill patients in the intensive care unit (ICU), emergency department, and other acute care settings.
  • Assess, diagnose, and manage complex medical conditions, including respiratory failure, sepsis, and multi -organ dysfunction.
  • Initiate and manage life -saving interventions, including ventilator support, vasopressor therapy, and dialysis.
  • Perform procedures such as central line insertions, arterial line placements, endotracheal intubation, and chest tube insertions as needed.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, including nurses, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and specialists, to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with family members, providing updates on patient status and prognosis, and addressing concerns and expectations.
  • Make real -time decisions regarding critical care interventions, treatment adjustments, and monitoring protocols based on patient response and evolving clinical conditions.
  • Interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., labs, imaging studies) and integrate findings into treatment plans.
  • Provide education to patients and their families about critical illness, treatment options, and recovery expectations.
  • Foster an empathetic and supportive environment, especially when discussing end -of -life decisions and advanced directives.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, progress notes, treatment plans, and medical interventions in the hospital’s electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, clinical guidelines, and accreditation standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety in the critical care unit.
  • Contribute to hospital protocols, best practices, and evidence -based care guidelines.
  • Identify and report safety concerns and participate in root cause analyses and action plans when needed.
