Intensive Outpatient Therapist – Adults (Co-Occurring MH/SUD) High Focus Centers is seeking passionate and dedicated professionals to join our team and provide exceptional care to adult clients with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorder concerns. Position Overview The Intensive Outpatient Therapist provides clinical services within our Adult IOP program, delivering group-based treatment, completing assessments, and supporting clients across the continuum of care.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
  • Proficiency in assessment, treatment planning, and ongoing clinical evaluation.
  • Experience facilitating individual and group therapy and engaging families in treatment.
  • Strong documentation skills with a commitment to ethical and professional practice.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse adult populations.
  • Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field, including completion of a clinically based internship.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with complex clinical presentations, including psychosis, strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience in behavioral health and/or substance use disorder treatment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) group therapy for adults with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
  • Provide individual therapy sessions.
  • Complete approximately 6–8 Level of Care Assessments per week, based on program needs.
  • Prepare group materials and maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation.
  • Develop and update individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, families, and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Assess and monitor clients’ behavioral, emotional, and substance use needs throughout treatment.
  • Maintain professional communication with clients, referral sources, and internal team members.
  • Complete insurance reviews, and document progress notes.
  • Meet productivity expectations while maintaining high clinical standards.
  • Participate in required trainings, staff meetings, and clinical supervision.
  • Maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment, including providing crisis intervention when necessary.
  • Uphold ethical standards and support overall program operations as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
