About The Position

Centerstone is seeking therapist with experience treating individuals with mental health and substance use disorders. This is an opportunity to work with a multi-disciplinary team.

Requirements

  • A Master's degree is required in one of the following fields: Clinical Psychology, Mental Health (MH) Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, and/or a specialization in MH Counseling.
  • License-eligible in respective discipline preferred.
  • Completion of at least 24 graduate-level semester hours in psychology, social work, counseling, or other behavioral health-related coursework for applicants with a Master's degree in a related field.
  • Relevant coursework and work experience in clinical treatment and treatment planning, appraisal and assessment of mental disorders, psychopathology, and use of the DSM for diagnostic purposes within a clinical internship or practicum in a behavioral health setting.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience providing treatment to individuals with mental health disorders is required.
  • Substance use disorders experience preferred.
  • Internship experience may be applied toward the minimum experience requirement for recent graduates.

Responsibilities

  • Develop therapeutic rapport with clients - Meet with clients as scheduled to aid in development of therapeutic relationship.
  • Formulate a provisional diagnostic assessment based on information presented, identify need for risk assessment (to include substance use assessments).
  • Completes documentation within 24 hours.
  • Provide assessment services, individual (and possibly family) therapy to those identified with substance use issues.
  • Developing, writing, implementing, evaluating and revising overall treatment goals/objectives and plans per ongoing assessment of needs and input from the individual based on their identified strengths.
  • Use of empirically based modalities to engage and manage their mental health or substance abuse diagnosis.
  • Completing urine drug screens to monitor client's progress in treatment and inform treatment.
  • Progress notes completed within current agency guidelines.
  • Responds to supervisory request for urgent care situations and coverage for vacant caseloads.
  • Keeps administrative supervisor informed of all potential issues that could impact the program or the organization.
