About The Position

As a Community Based Mental Health Counselor, you will provide essential mental health support to individuals in a community setting, focusing on behavioral therapy and patient care. Your role involves conducting patient assessments, maintaining medical documentation, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. You will work closely with clients and their families to develop and implement personalized treatment plans, with a strong emphasis on crisis intervention and recovery objectives.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in counseling, social work, or a related field.
  • Licensed mental health counselor or equivalent certification.
  • Proficient in behavioral therapy and applied behavior analysis.
  • Strong patient assessment and care skills.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation.
  • Experience in crisis intervention and psychotherapy.
  • Familiarity with child and family counseling techniques.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations, including those with developmental disabilities and PTSD.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the effective execution of personalized treatment plans and take required action based on observations.
  • Design crisis preventive and intervention plans to demonstrate quick thinking and crisis management capacity.
  • Act as a liaison between clients, families, and available resources, fostering relationships and outlining possibilities.
  • Provide incisive advice to clients and their families on person-centered plans and associated issues.
  • Utilize evaluation abilities to analyze the mental and emotional health of patients and inform treatment plans.
  • Assist in the pursuit of recovery and rehabilitation objectives by offering practical assistance for mental health and substance misuse treatment.
  • Help families and clients find services and access necessary resources.
  • Offer crucial psychoeducational assistance to clients and families.
  • Plan and execute individual treatment sessions in accordance with person-centered strategies.
