Intensive Employment Specialist - Full Time - Days
About The Position
Supports adults and youth with disabilities in our employment programs under both the ACCES VR contract and OPWDD services to help individuals prepare, obtain and maintain employment through the person-centered approach. Promotes a positive and productive team environment, to include working a flexible schedule along with all responsibilities to meet programmatic needs. Engages in community outreach, develops and nurtures a collaborative relationship with local businesses, schools, and outside agencies to include ACCES-VR and OPWDD to expand opportunities for community partnerships.
Requirements
- Associates’ Degree in Human Services or related field
- Two (2) years of experience of working with adults and/or youth with various disabilities
- A Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record with dependable transportation
- Ability to be positive and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor in the community.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel to sites for community-based work experiences or employment.
- Ability to effectively communicate orally, in writing, and on the telephone.
- Ability to design and coordinate group vocational and work readiness activities for youth and/or adults.
- Ability to understand, communicate and enforce regulations governing all vocational services.
- Ability to learn and use online and virtual training formats for group activities.

- Experience providing vocational support to individuals with disabilities.
- Applicants with Associates or Bachelor’s degree may provide documentation of training, certifications and education demonstrating knowledge in the field
