About The Position

Provide direct nursing care in a diverse healthcare environment in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate. Serve as a coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Note and carry out physician and nursing orders. Assess and coordinate patient's care needs with members of the healthcare team. The ICU Float Position is for an experienced nurse willing to float between our 4 ICU Departments (CVICU, Burns, MedSurg ICU, Neuro ICU). You do not have to be Burn/Heart/IABP/Ventric trained but do need to have a good understanding of hemodynamics for the general ICU patient. We will get you trained in all units. We are the tertiary care site for Ascension so all specialty and high acuity patients are sent to our campus. The Float Nurse needs to be flexible with assignments to accommodate what patients we have incoming. There is flexibility with weekends and holidays. Opportunity to grow as a nurse as many of the team also help in IR/Cath Lab/PACU/ED areas.

Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Licensure from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing OR current home state license if considered multi-state/Compact State.
  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire required.

Nice To Haves

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
