About The Position

Part Time 24 weekly hours, day shift - two 12-hour shifts & every 3rd weekend Sign On Bonus Eligible for Experienced Critical Care Nurses! About the Unit: The Intensive Care unit (ICU) is a 20 bed critical care unit specializing in neurologic care. Staff working in ICU will encounter a variety of nursing needs from stroke, post-op neurosurgery, ventricular drains, abdominal pressure monitoring, CRRT to hypothermia.

Requirements

• Active Kentucky License
• BCLS Required within 90 days of employment.
• ACLS will be required within six months for experienced staff nurses and within one year for new graduate nurses.

Responsibilities

• The ICU nurse assesses and identifies patient needs and implements appropriate interventions for the patient.
• The ICU Nurse establishes and maintains a plan for the delivery of nursing care; assures that nursing care interventions and activities are directed to resolve problems; and performs technical aspects of care competently.
• ICU nurses must have strong critical thinking skills.
• The critical care nurse acts as a family and patient resource to guide them through all stages of the patient’s critical care journey.
