About The Position

Directly responsible to a classroom teacher and the program supervisor Provide individual/small group instruction as planned by the teacher

Requirements

• Assist in teaching a diverse population of children in an atmosphere of kindness that encourages active inquiry, fosters individual growth and promotes respect for self, others and the work in which they live
• Participate in pre-service and regular In-Service training
• Provide individual/small group instruction as planned by the teacher
• Must be energetic, physically fit, able to multi-task, have patience, and must display a pleasant and positive disposition
• Must enjoy working with elementary aged children
• Must be able to assist children with all grade level academic lessons and assignments
• 60 earned college credit hours or Paraprofessional Certification (if you do not have these qualifications yet, please see attached certification information)
• Complete and clear all pre-employment drug testing and Indiana background check requirements for school personnel

Nice To Haves

• Experience with persons with special needs is a plus but not required
