The Intelligence Analyst II – Strategic Threat Assessment and Risk conducts all-source intelligence analysis of the threat environment, using both classified and open-source reporting streams and pertaining to geographic region(s) of coverage, with a focus on technical espionage threats and vulnerabilities. Using qualitative and quantitative analytical risk management methodologies, the analyst conducts risk analysis for overseas diplomatic facilities and works with subject matter experts to help develop risk mitigation strategies. The analyst coordinates information collection efforts with overseas security personnel to enhance the quality of threat reporting, compiles threat information into periodic reports for overseas missions and domestic planning, and provides both written and verbal briefings for executive-level and other State Department personnel. The analyst participates in Department and interagency committees, conferences, and working groups, and collaborates with analysts across the intelligence, law enforcement, and international communities. The Intelligence Analyst II is responsible for working with data throughout its lifecycle, including collection, management, analysis, reporting, and secure disposition, to support threat assessment and risk management activities.
