About The Position

We are currently seeking a dedicated professional with a proven track record of success to join our team. This full-time position serves as an Intellectual Property Support Specialist (IPSS) in support of the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane), a world class Naval Installation providing technical solutions to the Department of Defense. The IPSS will adapt existing analytical methods and techniques to specific issues and develop new approaches to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of program operations. They will analyze and evaluate, on a quantitative or qualitative basis, the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of the IP/T2 program. The IPSS will assist with preparation of routine invention disclosure forms, license agreements, IP marketing materials, etc. They must possess a thorough understanding of the process and common rules for obtaining and maintaining patent protection and effectively apply this understanding in the analysis and support of the IP portfolio to ensure the integrity of the portfolio. The IPSS will also provide analysis and recommendations related to the maintenance of IP portfolio and commercial potential of the IP. They will assist with the creation, tailoring, and production of IP-related presentations and materials with a focus on persuasive content and tracking relevant information for technology commercialization. They will also research IP databases (e.g., the USPTO website) for competitive intelligence and report alignments for potential new T2/partnering opportunities.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a technical field and/or a law-related are of study.
Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in engineering/science management, operations research analysis, and/or financial/cost analysis.
Minimum of 3 years of specialized experience in Patent/IP Support.
Active DoD Secret level security clearance.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within teams.
Self-starter committed to identifying and solving problems and meeting deadlines.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Power-Point, and Teams.

Nice To Haves

Professional experience in U.S. Navy programs preferred.

Responsibilities
