About The Position

Quarles & Brady LLP is seeking a Patent Prosecution Paralegal to assist with all aspects of patent preparation and prosecution across multiple clients and technologies. This role is crucial for coordinating filings, analyzing correspondence, and ensuring effective communication with various stakeholders in the patent prosecution process.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years working with intellectual property, with the majority spent in patent prosecution.
  • A minimum of 2+ years of law firm experience.
  • A bachelor's degree or Paralegal Certification is desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail and expertise working with an extensive patent prosecution docket.
  • Exceptional client service focus.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize and multi-task effectively.
  • Outstanding communication (oral & written) and organization skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with research institutions and/or tech transfers is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating filing new applications and USPTO responses.
  • Analyzing USPTO and foreign counsel correspondence.
  • Tracking due dates via matter management and docketing systems.
  • Proactively preparing client reporting's and prosecution documents.
  • Communicating with USPTO, attorneys, paralegals, liaisons, foreign associates, staff and clients regarding prosecution matters.
