Requirements

  • J.D. degree from an accredited law school
  • Active U.S. State Bar Membership
  • Member of the U.S. Patent Bar preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience practicing IP law, with a focus on trademarks, patents, copyrights, and litigation support
  • Strong knowledge of IP management systems & docketing tools
  • Exceptional communication skills - ability to simplify complex legal concepts
  • Detail-oriented & organized - balancing multiple priorities with precision
  • A collaborative mindset - able to work independently and within cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

  • Lead trademark application filings, prosecution, and maintenance.
  • Provide strategic counsel on brand protection and enforcement.
  • Conduct clearance searches and advise on trademark selection.
  • Draft and oversee patent applications from filing to issuance.
  • Develop patent strategy, including freedom-to-operate and patentability analyses.
  • Manage responses to office actions and collaborate with examiners.
  • Assist with fact-finding, data collection, and reviewing legal filings.
  • Support IP disputes and enforcement strategies.
  • Handle trademark oppositions and infringement matters.
  • Provide guidance on copyright protection for digital content and creative works.
  • Manage font registration, licensing, and compliance.
  • Optimize IP management systems to track and protect global assets.
  • Oversee renewals, annuities, and licensing agreements.
  • Advise internal teams on IP portfolio development and enforcement strategies.
  • Support IP-related contracts, including joint development and co-existence agreements.
  • Collaborate with creative and R&D teams on IP risk management.
