About The Position

North Stone is seeking an Intelligence Research Specialist, with technical writing experience, to provide subject matter expertise (SME) and experienced capability developer contractor support to the Requirements Determination Directorate (RDD), Intelligence–Capabilities Development and Integration Directorate (I-CDID), Futures and Concepts Center (FCC), Army Futures Command (AFC). The position is for a highly skilled and knowledgeable professional responsible for analyzing vulnerabilities, extensive research and analysis, capability development, documentation, and executing solutions, within the context of the force development process.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of real-world and operational all-source intelligence experience.
  • S. citizen with active Top Secret security clearance.
  • Experience in technical editing, developing/managing schedules, and documentation configuration management.
  • Ability to translate technical information into user requirements, operations and maintenance procedures.
  • Ability to work with independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal employees and outside sources.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and effectively to change.
  • Demonstrated ability to monitor their own work to ensure accuracy and quality is essential.
  • Must be proficiency in Microsoft Office software, especially MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience qualifications/certifications.

Nice To Haves

  • Senior level professional with 15+ years of real-world and operational all-source intelligence experience.
  • Experience providing DoD organizations with technical editing support.
  • Experience in scheduling, managing document reviews, and development of technical documents for the DoD.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and develop creative solutions to complex challenges.

  • Superior organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Master’s degree.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, integrate, assess, prioritize, and synchronize all-source intelligence capability requirements and solutions across the Army warfighting functions and intelligence layers (foundation, identity, terrestrial, aerial, and space).
  • Provide technical writing expertise to create and edit capability development documents such as Initial Capabilities Documents (ICDs), Capability Development Documents (CDDs), and Capability Production Documents (CPDs).
  • Provide comprehensive research and analysis of capability development documentation/activities for intelligence operations and related capabilities.
  • Conduct analysis of Army Military Intelligence (MI) capabilities across the spectrum of Doctrine, Organization, Training, Materiel, Leadership, Personnel, Facilities, and Policy (DOTMLPF-P) to identify enterprise-wide gaps and develop solutions for current and programmed requirements to assist I-CDID with capability development processes and other capabilities development documentation related to the Joint Capability Integration Development System (JCIDS).
  • Produce studies, assessments, presentations, information papers, point papers, white papers, spreadsheets, executive summaries, concepts, strategies, databases, and briefings to support senior leader decision making.
  • Document future requirements for the Army based on Army Operational Concepts, Functional Concepts, and Intelligence Community initiatives, focusing on missions within multidomain and large-scale ground combat operations.
  • Facilitate the selection and prioritization of capabilities that mitigate recognized capability gaps, address Warfighter needs, aiding planning and execution of projects.
  • Provide SME for but not limited to the following: artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML); data science applications; open-source intelligence (OSINT); aerial ISR; counter-UAS; space systems; robotics and automation; identity, biometrics, and forensic; identity intelligence (I2); intelligence support to targeting; and document exploitation (DOMEX).
