About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and detail‑oriented Integrations Engineer to join our team and play a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining integrations between healthcare EMRs and internal/external systems. This role requires strong technical expertise in interoperability standards, data transformation, scripting, and automation. The Integrations Engineer will ensure seamless, secure, and reliable data exchange across platforms—supporting operational efficiency and improving workflows across the organization. This role is ideal for candidates passionate about making healthcare systems work better together through clean, scalable, and compliant integrations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Health Informatics, or a related field; relevant experience may substitute.
  • 2+ years of experience in an integrations, interface, or interoperability engineering role.
  • Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages such as Lua or Python.
  • Hands‑on experience working with HL7 v2, FHIR, REST APIs, and related healthcare data exchange standards.
  • Familiarity with interface engines (e.g., Iguana, Mirth/NextGen Connect, Rhapsody, Cerner/Open Systems).
  • Experience with RPA tools, especially Microsoft Power Automate or Ui Path.
  • Understanding of EMR/EHR workflows and common healthcare system architectures.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex integration issues.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

  • Experience in a regulated environment such as healthcare is highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Integration Development & Maintenance: Design, develop, and maintain integrations between healthcare EMRs and other applications or services.
  • Build and support interfaces using HL7 v2, FHIR APIs, CCD/C‑CDA, and other healthcare data standards.
  • Write data transformation scripts using SQL and Lua to manipulate, validate, and route messages.
  • Interoperability & Data Handling: Map, transform, and normalize clinical and operational data from various healthcare systems.
  • Ensure accuracy, compliance, and consistency of exchanged data across all integrated systems.
  • Troubleshoot integration issues related to message structure, connectivity, authentication, and data quality.
  • Automation & Workflow Optimization: Develop and maintain RPA workflows to streamline manual processes.
  • Identify opportunities for automation to reduce administrative burden and enhance system efficiency.
  • System Collaboration & Support: Partner with app developers, project managers, analysts, and external vendors to understand integration requirements.
  • Support onboarding of new systems by designing and implementing integration workflows.
  • Participate in planning meetings, standups, and sprint reviews to ensure alignment with project objectives
  • Security, Compliance, & Reliability: Ensure all integrations comply with HIPAA, organizational policies, and industry best practices.
  • Monitor and maintain integration uptime, logging, alerting, and error resolution processes.
  • Document integration architecture, data mapping, and operational procedures.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay informed on emerging healthcare interoperability standards, integration tools, and automation technologies.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve integration performance, reliability, and maintainability.
