Northrop Grumman is seeking a talented Sr. Principal Systems Engineer to join our Systems Integration & Test team under the Tactical Fighters Business Unit. Candidate should be a self-starter with a strong mechanical or electrical engineering background. This position will be in Linthicum, MD. As part of the Systems Engineering Integration & Test functional homeroom, the Sr. Principal Engineer Systems will be responsible for supporting system-level hardware qualification testing. This position is contingent upon the ability to obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret clearance with Special Program Access (SAP) prior to start.

  • Operate system bench and execute qualification test procedures for Environmental, EMI, and Electrical Power Testing
  • Troubleshoot hardware failures specifically with Environmental, EMI and Electrical Power testing conditions
  • Follow rigorous I&T processes & procedures
  • Communicate effectively with team leadership and multi-disciplinary teams
  • Process/analyze data to generate qualification report SDRLs (supplier data requirement list)
  • Compile data and define changes required in test equipment, test procedures, or new test requirements
  • Support test environment stand up at ETL and maintain interface documentation
  • Interface with hardware and systems engineers in support of troubleshooting and verification
  • Bachelor's degree with 8 years of experience, a Master's degree with 6 years of experience or a Ph.D. with 4 years of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical fields; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • DoD Secret Clearance with special access prior to start date
  • 5 years of experience troubleshooting and resolving complex hardware integration issues
  • Experience with executing MATLAB scripts
  • 3 years experience troubleshooting system hardware and software configurations
  • Experience writing and running MATLAB scripts in MATE (MATLAB Automated Test Environment)
  • Experience executing formal test procedures in a lab environment
  • Experience with RF Hardware and test equipment
  • Experience with Environmental, EMI/EMC integration and testing
