About The Position

Supervise engineers and technicians in system programming/debug/startup activities. Manage engineering processes required to design, build, ship, and service Lincoln Electric Automation systems for both Fort Loramie and Coldwater locations.

Requirements

  • Technical Degree in electrical engineering field desired.
  • Complete PC capabilities, using MS office programs and others as required, and ability to develop computer programs or spreadsheets for specific analyses.
  • 8 years of proven design experience with Industrial Automation preferred.
  • PLC / HMI / Robot Programming / Network & Fieldbus / Safety Systems.
  • Team Leadership and Project Engineering experience. Must work well with Machine builders, management, and support functions.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise PLC /HMI/Robot, etc. programming personnel for both Fort Loramie and Coldwater locations.
  • Focus on employee development, training, performance reviews and goal setting.
  • Handle employee relations concerns with assistance from the Electrical Engineering Manager and Human Resources.
  • Determine project staffing requirements based on overall project schedule and assign/re-direct resources accordingly.
  • Coordinate and Lead/Participate in Engineering Design Reviews as needed (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic).
  • Provide team direction in complex system start-up, debug and final equipment maturation.
  • Lead Project Team in the effort of adhering to both a challenging project timeline as well as a tight financial budget (hours and material).
  • Assist purchasing in establishing costs and suppliers for purchased items.
  • Provide team direction in onsite installation and startup activities as needed including commissioning of equipment and resolution of final customer payment as required.
  • Coordinate compiling of operator and maintenance manuals.
  • Assist in developing/maintaining engineering and product standards.
  • Responsible for Project ISO Documentation.
  • Employee relations such as timekeeping, employee reviews, hiring practices and consistent adherence to company policy and procedure.
  • Lead mentoring process of new/inexperienced engineers.
  • Provide resources and assistance to Business Development for Quote reviews as well as developing concepts.
  • Strong knowledge in LEA LBS metrics and reports.
  • Represent the Electrical Engineering Department in the daily Gasoline Alley Meetings
  • Travel regularly between sites to monitor projects at both locations.
  • Drive standardization between sites
  • Work closely with Electrical Engineering Manager as well as other supervisors to streamline designs/processes to drive efficiency and cost savings.
