About The Position

DropletPharma is building two microscale devices that will accelerate radiopharmaceutical discovery and production, transforming health outcomes worldwide. As an integration engineering intern on our team, you will be tasked with taking ownership and implementing core improvements to the mechanical and fluidic systems for our two flagship systems. This will be a fully in-person position in Los Angeles, CA (near LAX) for the spring (approximately January to June) with flexible start and end dates.

Requirements

  • Pursuing B.S. degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or similar.
  • Working knowledge of design of experiments.
  • Experience with statistical analysis tools such as ANOVA, significance analysis, etc.
  • Assembly of complex systems (mechanical, electromechanical, fluidic, pneumatic).
  • Experience with metrology and measurement devices such as pressure transducers, flow sensors, thermocouples, etc.
  • Ability to work in both laboratory and machine shop environments.
  • 3D Printing & Rapid prototyping experience.
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Nice To Haves

  • Data analysis using various python libraries (NumPy, pandas, matplotlib).
  • GD&T (ASME Y14.5)

Responsibilities

  • Work with the engineering team to test and characterize mechanical, pneumatic, and fluidic subsystems for our radiopharmaceutical production and discovery systems.
  • Build and test assemblies and prototyping systems.
  • Create DOEs/experimental plans and perform experiments to evaluate new concepts and designs.
  • Perform data analysis on experimental data.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of testing documentation as well as manuals and SOPs for operation of prototype systems.
  • Troubleshoot and improve designs.
