This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. We are looking for a skilled Level Three Coatings Technician to join our dynamic team at Blue Origin. The ideal candidate will possess advanced knowledge in metal coating techniques and be responsible for applying complex coatings to aerospace-grade products. This position requires a high level of expertise in ensuring precision, consistency, and compliance with industry standards.   • Apply advanced coating processes to metal and aerospace-grade products, ensuring adherence to specified thickness and finish quality.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain coating equipment and machinery, ensuring optimal functioning.
  • Interpret technical documents, such as blueprints, schematics, and process specifications, to carry out coating applications effectively.
  • Conduct quality checks and inspections of coated materials to identify any defects or inconsistencies and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality assurance teams to develop and improve coating processes.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards during all coating operations.
  • Document all coating operations and maintain records as required for inspection and quality assurance.
  • Provide guidance and training to junior technicians as needed.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or associate degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in metal coatings, preferably within the aerospace industry.
  • Proficiency in using coating equipment and understanding of different coating materials and methods.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to conduct precise measurements.
  • Familiarity with quality standards and regulations for aerospace coatings.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and other departments.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver materials up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and work in various positions for extended periods.

  • Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification (obtained before onboarding), Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing (CDL drivers only), vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training.
  • Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
