About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Integration Engineer II to join our growing EMIS team. In this role, you will design, build, and support critical healthcare system integrations, enabling seamless data exchange between hospital EMRs, vendors, and internal platforms. This is an exciting opportunity to work on HL7 and API-based integrations, contributing to both standard and moderately complex projects while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced healthcare technology environment.

Requirements

  • 4–6 years of experience in healthcare integration, interface development, or related field
  • Strong knowledge of HL7 message types (ADT, ORM, ORU, MDM)
  • Hands-on experience with an interface engine and troubleshooting/debugging techniques
  • Experience integrating with major hospital EMRs such as Epic, Cerner, or Meditech
  • Proven ability to analyze workflows, map data, and validate end-to-end integrations
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Healthcare Systems Analysis or Business Analysis
  • Exposure to Project Management tools (Wrike, Smartsheet, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of SQL or database management systems
  • Experience with process improvement initiatives
  • Familiarity with InterSystems or similar interface platforms

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, test, and deploy HL7 and API-based interfaces within an interface engine (e.g., HealthConnect)
  • Translate business and technical requirements into interface specifications, data mappings, and test plans
  • Perform GAP analysis to improve workflows, efficiency, and data quality
  • Lead and support system integration testing (SIT) and user acceptance testing (UAT)
  • Troubleshoot interface issues, identify root causes, and implement solutions
  • Monitor production interfaces to ensure data integrity and system reliability
  • Collaborate with hospital IT teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders
  • Support go-lives, upgrades, and enhancements through validation and change management
  • Maintain detailed documentation for builds, mappings, and support procedures
  • Provide advanced support and communicate technical concepts clearly to stakeholders
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and integration standards initiatives
