The Integration Developer at the University at Albany is responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying, and providing operational support for integration solutions that meet the academic, research, and business needs of the institution. This role involves working with a collaborative team to ensure the integration and interoperability of over 250 applications, including the student information system, and requires strong analytical skills to implement effective solutions.

  • Provide day-to-day operational ownership, including quality assurance activities and documentation, for integration solutions.
  • Design, develop, and implement integration solutions using MuleSoft.
  • Lead the MuleSoft development and operational activities required to adopt enhancements and refactor solutions for Anypoint platform updates.
  • Assist in the migration of legacy integrations, written in a variety of languages, to the MuleSoft platform.
  • Define and document integration standards and best practices.
  • Coach team members to build knowledge and skills on MuleSoft.
  • Work closely with technical staff to ensure integration solution designs meet customer business needs and requirements.
  • A bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by a U.S. Department of Education (DOE) or internationally recognized accrediting organization.
  • Two or more years of experience working as a developer with an application integration platform.
  • Proven programming skills and a deep understanding of REST/SOAP API protocols.
  • Experience working with version control solutions such as Git and a solid understanding of continuous integration concepts and technologies.
  • Knowledge and experience in the utilization of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Ability to independently organize work, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple and changing priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to develop inclusive and equitable relationships within a diverse campus community.
  • Ability to support diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and belonging, relative to their role.
  • Experience working in higher education and/or familiarity with the unique needs of an academic institution.
  • Experience with MuleSoft API Manager, Runtime Manager, RAML, Exchange and Design Center.
  • MuleSoft Developer certification.
  • Two or more years of Java development experience.
  • Experience utilizing Maven for build management.
  • Experience integrating with PeopleSoft.
  • Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks like Angular, React, Node, and jQuery to assist in troubleshooting client consumption of APIs.
  • Experience in creating custom MuleSoft connectors.
  • Experience with GitHub Action Development.
