As an Integration & Automation Engineer at Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, you will play a crucial role in the Research and Development team, focusing on enhancing integration and automation features in power grid products. Your work will involve providing solutions that help protect and control critical electrical infrastructure and power systems globally, ensuring safety and efficiency in power delivery.

  • Maintain advanced technical knowledge and skills to contribute to the development and enhancement of integration and automation features in SEL products.
  • Define, develop and analyze product specifications, functional tests, and system validation processes.
  • Diagnose customer reported problems with integration and communication features and document issues for developers.
  • Provide technical and market analysis to evaluate proposed products or enhancements.
  • Mentor Associate Engineers and Technicians.
  • B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience with serial, Ethernet, and multiple communication protocols in an electrical power system environment.
  • 2+ years of experience in setup and configuration of a broad range of network devices and interfaces.
  • 2+ years of experience at an electric utility, industrial plant, or engineering firm.
  • Ability to work effectively and professionally with internal and external customers.
  • 2+ years of experience in electric power SCADA or EMS practices.
  • Experience contributing to product development teams.
