There are still lots of open positions. Let's find the one that's right for you.
This is an UNPAID internship through the DoD SkillBridge Program for transitioning active-duty US military personnel. The SkillBridge internship is designed to help transitioning active-duty military personnel gain real-world experience in the workforce during their final 180 days of active-duty service. The intern will actively train on meaningful projects and work closely with a mentor and senior company leadership. HII Mission Technologies Internship programs focus on placing transitioning military into internships that require Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSAs), Education, and Military Training similar to their current or previous military jobs; positions that could easily transition into a full-time regular and permanent job with HII. For this internship, the SkillBridge intern will train as an Engineering Technician 3 within HII-Mission Technologies, reporting to a designated HII Supervisor (Melissa Harmon) and working alongside Systems Engineer (Elyssa Moncivais). The goal is to learn the maintenance actions and duties required of Engineering Technicians in support of the Navy Battle Force Tactical Trainer (BFTT) system and Integrated Training Systems technicians, along with the required maintainer responsibilities. The intern will be assigned special projects as needed, with a focus on developing skills to troubleshoot, provide recommendations, and complete reports specific to BFTT, ATD, and related integrated training systems equipment. The internship is structured over a 12-week training plan, where the intern will engage in various activities including in-processing, equipment familiarization, maintenance documentation, and troubleshooting of BFTT and ATD systems. By the end of the internship, the intern will have developed a good understanding of Integrated Training Systems Installation and Sustainment (ITSIS) upgrades, life-cycle management, fleet support, and continuous maintenance, including the ability to document conditions found and complete weekly Fleet Support and System Status reports.
