In this job, you'll be part of the Integrated Major Project Development team responsible for sponsoring major transmission utility projects and leading different aspects of technical/engineering efforts such as developing scope, schedule and costs, while looking for synergies and opportunities for project cross-cutting to maximize value. Coordinating and performing technical analyses for transmission level projects, you'll drive multiple aspects during licensing and construction to streamline and optimize SCE resources. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Bachelor's Degree in a scientific/technical/math field.
  • Seven or more years of experience performing engineering work in operations, production, construction or maintenance environments.
  • Possess a valid Class C Driver's License.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline
  • Experience developing and delivering technical presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience collaborating with regional transmission organizations (e.g., CAISO, ERCOT), regulatory agencies (e.g., FERC, NERC).
  • Experience supporting the development of testimony for regulatory proceedings and environmental licensing.
  • Engineering experience related to modeling and performing power system analyses on distribution and transmission systems
  • Experience in utility industry, with a focus in distribution and transmission planning, grid interconnection, power system infrastructure related to substations and/or design of those facilities.
  • Experience in project management, including strategic planning, budgeting, and execution of large-scale projects.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees engineers performing diagnostics, monitoring and inspecting equipment, and reviewing grid technologies, building relationships to facilitate cross-functional knowledge transfer of related work groups
  • Leads the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and other documentation to communicate project status, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders
  • Collaborate and lead with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless development, integration and implementation of future technologies and asset performance management strategies
  • Assists in a variety of engineering and business initiatives and grid strategies, including development of innovative procedures and design recommendations
  • Provides support for new equipment installation and startup, then leads the hand over processes to the ramp and sustaining phases
  • Leads junior engineers in investigation of threats on the distribution system infrastructure based on observations and findings
  • Gathers and correlates basic data using engineering studies and procedures, which may include routine and diagnostic testing of components and systems
  • Facilitates training and professional development opportunities for engineering team members to enhance their skills and knowledge
  • Ensures the protection of all physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accesses and manages private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
