About The Position

TAI Engineers is currently searching for an experienced Integrated Logistics and Support Intern to join our team in New Orleans, LA. This internship serves as an introduction to basic engineering support elements, such as vendor information, ESWBS structure, configuration equipment hierarchical structure, technical manuals, among others. Will gain an understanding of the equipment, vendors, and processes used in ship design. ABOUT TAI ENGINEERS, LLC TAI is a total marine solutions company that provides engineering and production support services to a wide variety of customers in the US and abroad. TAI is a wholly owned subsidiary of S&B. TAI’s mission to deliver ‘Solutions that Enhance Value’ is the primary focus of any project that TAI undertakes. Since TAI’s founding in 1993, it has brought many vessels to fruition and has more than 5,000 designs in its library. TAI is ISO 9001-2015 Certified for Design, Engineering, Integrated Logistics and Program Management Services. TAI is GSA listed to provide engineering services and vessels to the US Government and we are a prime contractor on NAVSEA's SeaPort NxG program.

Requirements

  • Pursuing Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in any engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Enrolled within an engineering discipline at an accredited university.
  • This Internship classification requires completion of at least one year of undergraduate studies from an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Engineering.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general technical data and organize complex information into logical order.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to work and apply fundamental mathematical concepts to practical situations.
  • This requires normal hearing, the ability to stand, walk, reach, climb and balance, clear close and distance vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.
  • Lifting up to 25 pounds may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Executing routine tasks that are clearly defined and involve the application of standard design techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Reading and interpreting technical data
  • Organizing equipment structure into logical hierarchical structures
  • Professional contact with vendors and customers by email, phone, and in person
  • Learning basic engineering support data – such as ESWBS structure, Marine Terminology, etc.
