About The Position

You will be an Integrated Circuit Layout Designer for our Readout Integrated Circuit (ROIC) design team at Lockheed Martin's Santa Barbara Focalplane business. Our team drives the next generation of infrared and visible spectrum imagers by delivering world class read out integrated circuits (ROICs) that power advanced infrared (IR) camera systems for defense, science and commercial markets. What You Will Be Doing As the Integrated Circuit Layout Designer, you will be responsible for translating high performance analog and digital schematics into robust silicon layouts that meet sub micron, mixed signal VLSI specifications. Working side by side with circuit designers, you will help turn cutting edge ROIC concepts into manufacturable silicon blocks that enable ultra low noise, low power, high speed imaging. Ability to work remotely Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process. Work Schedule Information Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Requirements

  • Training and experience in IC layout design
  • Experience with IC design in Cadence Virtuoso tool suite
  • MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in custom CMOS integrated circuit transistor and standard cell layout
  • Experience in Cadence Virtuoso Layout XL, GXL, MXL, and Siemens Calibre

Responsibilities

  • Performing full custom physical layout of mixed signal CMOS transistor level designs.
  • Implementing ultra low noise analog front end circuits, low power analog to digital converters, and multi GHz serializers/deserialize blocks.
  • Applying design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for test (DFT) techniques to meet tight area, thermal and performance constraints.
  • Collaborating with circuit designers, verification engineers, and process engineers to resolve layout related issues and iterate quickly.
  • Generating and maintaining layout documentation, design rule check (DRC) and layout versus schematic (LVS) reports, and release packages for tape out.
  • Conducting parasitic extraction and post layout simulations to verify electrical performance against specifications.
  • Mentoring junior technicians and contributing best practice guidelines to the team’s layout library.
