Oklahoma City Indian Clinic (OKCIC) is a non-profit corporation that provides culturally sensitive health care to the American Indian population. OKCIC services include not only basic medical care but also dental, optometry, behavioral health, fitness, nutrition, and other family programs. We are currently hiring an Integrated Behavioral Health Coordinator to join our Behavioral Health team. This role is essential in supporting an integrated care model by providing mental health screenings, care coordination, and timely crisis response support. The Coordinator works closely with Behavioral Health providers and the Integrated Health team to ensure patients receive seamless, coordinated, and culturally competent care. In this role, the Integrated Behavioral Health Coordinator will serve as a key point of connection between patients and providers, assisting with screenings, assessments, referrals, and case management services. This position plays a critical role in responding to behavioral health needs, including supporting patients experiencing crisis situations, and coordinating care across internal teams and external resources. The ideal candidate is a compassionate, detail-oriented professional with experience in behavioral health, care coordination, and crisis response. They are comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment, demonstrate strong communication and problem-solving skills, and are committed to providing patient-centered, culturally respectful care. Requirements

  • Due to the safety-sensitive nature of this position, medical marijuana license holders who test positive for marijuana will not be qualified for this position
  • Must align with OKCIC vision, mission and core values
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Behavioral Health-related field required
  • Previous experience working in a behavioral health setting required
  • Crisis management experience preferred
  • Case Management II Certification required
  • Ability to maintain HIPAA compliance, confidentiality, and data integrity
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and respond effectively in high-pressure situations

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with community health, nonprofit organizations, or public health programs preferred
  • Experience working with the Native American population preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conduct mental health screenings, assessments, and intake coordination for patients
  • Provide care coordination and service integration across behavioral health and medical systems
  • Serve as backup support for the Integrated Health phone board, including assisting with crisis calls
  • Act as an initial point of contact for patients experiencing mental health crises, including suicidal ideation or severe mental illness, and coordinate appropriate responses
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, medical family therapists, outpatient therapists, and Peer Recovery Specialists to support patient care
  • Participate in weekly Integrated Health team meetings and ongoing care coordination efforts
  • Coordinate behavioral health services and treatment planning within the clinic
  • Provide case management and referrals to community resources, outside agencies, and residential treatment centers
  • Ensure timely, accurate documentation of all patient encounters in accordance with clinic and regulatory standards
  • Assist with linkage to both mental health and non-mental health services to support whole-person care
