About The Position

The Integrated Behavioral Health (IBH) Clinician provides direct clinical service to patients in an integrated team based model of care. Clinical service may include consultation/assessment (urgent basis or pre-scheduled), support and linkage services, psychoeducation, brief interventions, and counseling to enhance patient physical and psychological well-being. The IBH Clinician provides clinical supervision to behavioral health interns; participates in quality improvement and peer reviews; and assists in developing programming as requested by the Director of Behavioral Health Services.

Requirements

  • Valid clinical license to practice in Rhode Island LCSW required; LICSW or LMHC is preferred.
  • Master’s Degree, with commensurate practicum, internship, and post graduate work focused clinical mental health practice is required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience providing direct clinical behavioral health services is required
  • Ability to design and implement clinical pathways and protocols for treatment of selected chronic conditions is required.
  • Excellent working knowledge of behavioral medicine and evidence based treatment for medical and mental health conditions is required.
  • Comfort with the pace of primary care, working with interdisciplinary team, and having strong communication skills is required.
  • Excellent patient engagement skills are required.
  • Reliable transportation is required
  • Cultural sensitivity necessary to work with a diverse patient and staff population is required
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively is required
  • Knowledge of computers and medical records is required

Nice To Haves

  • LICSW or LMHC is preferred.
  • Experience treating substance abuse/addictions is preferred.
  • Experience working in a community health care setting is preferred
  • Bilingual ability in English and Spanish, Cape Verdean Creole, or Portuguese speaking abilities is preferred
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite is preferred
