About The Position

Interview and assess clients’ request needs and administer service. Willing to utilize trauma informed practices.

Requirements

  • Two-year associate degree in human services or related field, preferred and one-year related work experience required.
  • Ability to be flexible, prioritize and work on multiple projects or tasks simultaneously.
  • Advanced Microsoft Suite skills and the ability to access data systems via a web-based system.
  • Administrative skills to include utilization of standard office equipment, data entry, 10-key, attention to details and filing.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and spoken, and ability to maintain effective working relationships.
  • Mathematical skills to include add, subtract, multiply, divide, use of common fractions and decimals.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to details.
  • Strong independent judgement along with creative problem-solving skills.
  • Must pass all applicable background checks.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license from the state in which you reside.
  • Must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business.

Responsibilities

  • Complete interview for clients requesting services, i.e. food pantry, clothing, disaster assistance.
  • Determine clients’ needs and provide emergency material assistance and/or referral, if applicable.
  • Consistently stock supply for the food pantry and participate in unloading, sorting and storing deliveries from the Foodbank and other seasonal services as directed.
  • Assess and refer eligible clients with children to the Pathway of Hope program.
  • Screen applicant, book appointment and complete interview for client requesting assistance with Black Hills Energy, Omaha Public Power District and Metropolitan Utilities District.
  • Complete case files and paperwork within 24 hours and complete daily stats for each client receiving services.
  • Compile and tally accurate monthly reports and submit to program coordinator for completion.
  • Enter accurate data regarding clients receiving assistance in Service Point in a timely manner.
  • Assist with preparation and application process for Christmas Bureau including applications, data entry, or special services.
  • Assist with preparation, application process, distribution and completion of the back to school program.
  • Network with other community organizations and attend meetings to build relationships and make referrals.
  • Participate in goal planning and program development and attend all mandatory yearly trainings and additional in-service trainings as applicable.
  • Participate in staff meeting and Performance Quality Improvement.
  • Participate in community events that benefit the MASS program, i.e. run/walk, Post Office food drive, Girl Scout food drive, etc.
  • Assist with keeping the pantry and hallway areas neat and clean.
  • Driving is a requirement of the position,
  • All other duties as assigned.
