About The Position

The Part-Time Intake Worker will provide supervision and intake of clients, maintaining security, and providing supportive services. The schedule for this position is as follows: Fridays 6:00PM - 1:00AM Saturdays 3:00PM - 11:00PM Sundays 3:00PM - 11:00PM

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience working with the homeless population desirable

Responsibilities

• Conducts intake interviews for new shelter residents.
• Monitors room assignments and distributes basic necessities.
• Provides necessary supervision of shelter and residents, assuring that rules and policies are being followed.
• Assist with client need, refer to case manager as appropriate.
• Provide de-escalation and crisis response.
• Answers telephone calls, taking messages when appropriate.
• Maintain cleanliness of shelter common areas.
• Assist with food service preparations and serving.
• Ensures shift is documented according to procedures.
• Performs room inspections.
• Supervises volunteers, when assigned
